aespa: WORLD TOUR in cinemas is the first project announced for theatrical distribution in April under new partnership

DENVER, CO – xx – Leading global event cinema distributor Trafalgar Releasing, and CJ 4DPLEX today announced the launch of a strategic partnership, focusing on producing, programming, delivering and marketing four K-pop cinema releases worldwide in 2024 utilizing a combination of ScreenX /4DX / ULTRA 4DX and traditional cinema locations.

The impact of K-pop cinema releases on the global box office has been a phenomenon since Trafalgar Releasing’s initial BTS release in 2018, and the company has since generated more than $120 million in box office revenue from K-pop releases.

The Trafalgar Releasing and CJ 4DPLEX partnership is designed to offer rightsholders a full suite of production and distribution capabilities for the creation of global cinema events incorporating the multisensory technology of 4DX, ULTRA 4DX and ScreenX alongside standard cinema auditoriums. The partnership provides a customizable wide footprint of theaters selected to match the size and location of the audience and provide substantial revenue opportunities for content owners.

The first project to launch the partnership is aespa: WORLD TOUR in cinemas, a special cinematic presentation capturing the acclaimed global tour, aespa LIVE TOUR 2023 SYNK : HYPER LINE which will screen in more than 45 countries on April 24 & 27. The additional three titles will be announced throughout the year.

Trafalgar Releasing and CJ 4DPLEX have worked together on previous global cinema releases since 2021 including the live broadcast of Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres Tour, as well as with numerous K-pop artists such as BTS, BLACKPINK, Seventeen, IU, MonstaX and NCT Dream.
